Teams Stay Undefeated vs. Michigan Center & Addison
Both teams scored dual victories in some hard-fought contests. Highlights of the girls events included Kaniya Weatherspoon winning 4 events (long jump, 100, 200, 4x400). Madison Dean won the 800. Miranda Hamman won the 1600. Rachel Harris won the shot put clearing 31'. The 4x400 relay of Kaniya Weatherspoon, Holly Warolin, Sofia Silvestri, and Sydney Slayton ran an impressive 4:17.1!
In the boy's meet the winner came down to the 4x400 relay. The team of Shayne Palmer, Ryan Silvestri, Ian Barnes, and Zach Baird ran a 3:33.4 to claim victory in the race and in the meet for the Napoleon Pirates. Other impressive performances included Ryan Silvestri winning the 400. The 3200 relay of Ryan, Shayne Palmer, Joel Johnson, and Zach Baird were winners. Brendan Baia won the 300 hurdles. Greg Weatherspoon won jump, and Austin Walker won shot put.

Lady Pirates - Sand Creek Invitational Champions!!!!
The Lady Pirates traveled to Sand Creek and brought home the first place plaque! The girls defeated 6 other area schools. Kaniya Weatherspoon had an outstanding night running 12.54 in the 100 and long jumping 16-11.5". She also won the 200 and the 400. Finishing the night in amazing fashion was the 4x400 relay of Sofia Silvestri, Sydney Slayton, Tessa Staggemeier, and Holly Waroling. They held off the Vandercook Jayhawks by .3 seconds to claim the victory!
Boy's Win Dome Classic!!!!
Saturday both teams traveled to East Jackson to compete in the Dome Class. The boy's team brought home the trophy defeating 7 other area schools. Highlights of the day included......

Big Wins vs. Vandercook Lake
Tuesday night both teams opened the conference season with victories. The boys team defeated Vandercook Lake 109-32. The boys dominated and won 15 of the 17 events. *More Stats to Follow*
The girls team won 83-54. Kaniya Weatherspoon was a 4 event winner for the Lady Pirates (long jump, 100, 200, 4x400). Maddi Dean ran the "big 4" finishing with 3 "1st Places" and 1 "2nd Place." The 4x800 (Smoyer, Hamman, Dean, Albert) and 4x400 (Hamman, Slayton, Warolin, Weatherspon) also found victory! Miranda Hamman was a 3x winner. Terra Smith won shot put and Paige Harcourt won the 100 Hurdles!

Grass Lake Warrior Invite Champions!
Saturday the Lady Pirate Track Team won the 12 team invitational at Grass Lake. The Pirates scored 100 points defeating 2nd place Concord with 83. The Lady Pirates had 3 first place finishes. Winners in the 4x800 were Maddi Dean, Alaina Albert, Tessa Staggemeier, and Miranda Hamman. Kaniya Weatherspoon, Holly Warolin, Sofia Silvestri, and Sydney Slayton combined to win the 4x400. Kaniya Weatherspoon also won the 200 and finished 2nd in long jump and the 100. Other outstanding performances included Paige Harcourt in high jump and hurdles, Terrah Smith in shot put, and the entire distance crew of Tessa Staggemeier, Miranda Hamman, and Maddi Dean.
The boy's team finished 4th defeating 7 area schools. Ryan Silvestri won the 3200. Greg Weatherspoon took 2nd in long jump with a new personal best of 20-3.25. Ian Barnes took 2nd in the 200. Britt Swaenepoel was 3rd in shot put throwing over 46'.
Hillsdale College Charger Invitational
Wednesday night the teams traveled to Hillsdale College and competed against 18 area teams. Kaniya Weatherspoon won the 400 and long jump. She finished 2nd in the 200. Other highlights on the girls team included the 4x400 finishing 2nd with Holly Warolin, Sofia Silvestri, Sydney Slayton, and Kaniya Weatherspoon. Paige Harcourt medaled in high jump at 4-7. Maddi Dean and Tessa Staggemeier medaled in distance events. In the boy's events the SMR of Cole Ellison, Ian Barnes, Zach Baird, and Ryan Silvestri finished 2nd. Ryan Silvestri, Connor Silvestri, and Shayne Palmer medaled in their distance events. Ian Barnes medaled in the sprints, and Brendan Baia medaled in the hurdles.
2015 MSU True Team Invite
Thursday night the teams traveled to MSU to compete in the True Team Invitational. Both teams finished 7th out of 15 teams. Highlights for the night included Kaniya Weatherspoon winning the 400, Ryan Silvestri placing 3rd in the 800 and 5th in the 3200, the women's 4x800 finishing 4th and the men's 4x800 finishing 5th. Ian Barnes, Greg Weatherspoon, Austin Walker, Paige Harcourt, and Sofia Silvestri all had Top 10 finishes in their events out of 45 athletes!
