Lady Pirates Score Big @ MHSAA State Meet
The Lady Pirate Track Team finished the season with outstanding results at the state meet. Overall the team finished 6th in the state. The girls combined to bring home 14 all-state medals in 5 different events. The 4x800 was 14th, the 4x200 was 5th, the 4x100 was 5th, and the 4x44 was 3rd. Hannah Reynard and Kaniya Weatherspoon combined to set a first in Napoleon Track History. Each earned all-state honors in 4 different events. Hannah has now earned “all-state” honors 7 times in 3 years. Hannah was 3rd overall in the 300 hurdles in 46.19, a new school record. Kaniya was 3rd overall in long jump. Cassidy Reid and Ashley Smith were each named “all-state” in 2 events. For Cassidy and Ashley it was their 3rd time being named all-state. Madison Lane and Odette Ingall were each named “all-state” in 1 event. Madison was also named to the “academic all-state” team. The ladies also set a new school record in the 4x200 relay. Great job ladies and what a great season! 7 school records, a conference and regional championship, and 6th in the state. Next year is going to be very exciting!
Lady Pirates Excite at the Jackson Selby Honor Meet!
The girl’s track team had an exciting night competing in the Jackson Selby Invitational. The girls had an great night winning 3 of the 4 relays. The 4x100 (50.69) and the 4x200 (1:47.37) each set new school records and posted the fastest times in the state this year. The 4x400 cruised to 4:10.35. Hannah Reynard had an impressive night and was the only athlete from any school to get 4 victories. Kaniya soared 17 feet in long jump and was on 3 winning relays. The following girls were named Jackson County Honor Roll Members: Hannah Reynard (300 Hurdles, 4x100, 4x200, 4x400), Kaniya Weatherspoon (Long Jump, 4x100, 4x200, 4x400), Ashley Smith (4x100, 4x200), Cassidy Reid (100, 4x100, 4x400), Odette Ingall (400, 4x400), Maddie Lane (4x200), McKenzie Smoyer (1600), and Rachel Benedict (Discus).
Lady Pirates 6th Place @ MITCA Team State!!!!
The Lady Pirates track team traveled to the team state competition and finished in the 6th place in the state. The outstanding finish was anchored by key performances from many of the girls. Hannah Reynard led the team in scoring and won the Team State title in the 300 hurdles in a new school record time of 46.72 seconds. Kaniya Weatherspoon finished in the top 3 in her 4 individual events. Madison Lane, Cassidy Reid, Odette Ingall, Ashley Smith, and McKenzie Smoyer also contributed heavily to the team scoring. Courtney Weaver, Allyssa Kryst, Harleigh Falor, and Maddi Dean also had outstanding performances.

Cascades Conference Championship
The girl’s track team won the Cascades Conference Championship. The girls brought home the back-to-back trophy with some outstanding performances. All 4 relays won their events. Kaniya set a meet record in long jump with a jump of 17’3 along with winning the 200 and 400. Maddie Lane won the 100 dash. Hannah Reynard won the 300 Hurdles. McKenzie Smoyer medaled in the 4 "ironwoman" races (4x8, 1600, 800, 3200). Rachel Benedict was 2nd in discus. The following girls were named all-conference: Cassidy Reid, Hannah Reynard, Odette Ingall, Kaniya Weatherspoon, Savannah Anderson, Alaina Albert, McKenzie Smoyer, Miranda Hamman, Maddie Lane, Ashley Smith, Rachel Benedict, Sam Berry, Allyssa Kryst, Caitlin Smith, and Paige Harcourt.

2013 Regional Champions!!!!!
2013 Regional Champions!!! - Napoleon Lady Pirates!!!!
Congratulations to the girl’s track team on winning the regional title Friday night defeating 15 teams. The girls brought home the regional title for the 2nd year in a row. Highlights of the night included Cassidy Reid (100, 4x1, 4x2, 4x4), Hannah Reynard (300H, 4x1, 4x2, 4x4), and Kaniya Weatherspoon (LJ, 4x1, 400, 4x4) qualifying for state in 4 events. Odette Ingall (400, 4x4) and Ashley Smith (4x1, 4x2) qualified in 2 events. McKenzie Smoyer (4x8), Savannah Anderson (4x8), Alaina Albert (4x8), Madison Lane (4x2), and Miranda Hamman (4x8) qualified in 1 event. During the night the girls gave some outstanding performances including 3 new school records. The 400 relay ran 50.78 and the 1600 relay ran 4:06.53 to set 2 new school records. Kaniya Weatherspoon also set a new school record in the 400 with 59.54. 11 girls were named to the All-Region team including: Rachel Benedict, Savannah Anderson, McKenzie Smoyer, Alaina Albert, Miranda Hamman, Madison Lane, Odette Ingall, Hannah Reynard, Kaniya Weatherspoon, Ashley Smith, and Cassidy Reid.

May 10 Manchester Metrics
The Lady Pirates Track Team brought home the 1st place trophy with a close win over Adrian Madison, Milan, and 6 other area schools. The final score was Napoleon 119, Madison 114, and Milan 90. The Pirates were first in 5 events (high jump, Manchester Relay, 4x100, 4x400, 100 Relay). The Pirates took 2nd in 8 other events. Kaniya Weatherspoon and Cassidy Reid combined for 4 victories. Hannah Reynard and Ashley Smith contributed in 3 winning relays. Highlights of the night included the 4x4 (Ingall, Reynard, Lane, Reid) running 4:18.8. Paige Harcourt took 2nd in the hurdles. Sierra Huffman jumped 13'8" in long jump. Savannah Anderson ran 6:09.8 in the mile.
May 7 Napoleon vs. Hanover-Horton & Manchester
The Lady Pirates defeated Hanover 96-37 and Manchester 107-26. The Pirates had many outstanding performances and finished the dual season 7-0. . All relays were successful. the 4x1 (Ashley Smith, Madison Lane, Caitlin Smith, Hannah Reynard) ran 52.4. The 4x200 (ASmith, Lane, Reynard, Cassidy Reid) ran 1:51.9. The 4x4 (Odette Ingall, Miranda Hamman, Reid, Lane) ran 4:29. And the 4x8 set a new mark of 10:34 (Alaina Albert, McKenzie Smoyer, Miranda Hamman, Ingall). Kaniya Weatherspoon won 4 events including an amazing 59.5 in the 400. In the throwing events Rachel Benedict won disc throwing over 93'. Sam Berry was second with a throw over 92'. Allyssa Kryst won the shot put with 31'8". Harleigh Falor took second with another 30'+ foot throw. Paige Harcourt won high jump. Hannah Reynard won the 300 hurdles. Courtney Weaver won the 100 hurdles in 18.0 seconds.
May 3 Napoleon @ the Onsted Booster Invitational
Friday night the Lady Pirates track team lost by only 1 point to the #1 team in the state, Adrian Madison, 133-132. The Lady Pirates had some outstanding performances. Kaniya Weatherspoon won 4 events and set 2 meet records...in the 200 (26.52) and long jump (16-5). Hannah Reynard broke the school record again in the 300 hurdles (47.25). She currently holds the fastest time in the state. The 4x800 (Smoyer, Hamman, Anderson, Albert 10:42) and 4x400 (Weatherspoon, Ingall, Lane, Reynard 4:11.8) also brought home victories at the meet. Allyssa Kryst set a p.r. with 31-4 in shot put. McKenzie Smoyer took 2nd in the 1600 & 3200. Miranda Hamman took 4th in both.

April 30th Napoleon and Addison @ Michigan Center
The Lady Pirates improved their record to 5-0 defeating Addison and Michigan Center. Highlights of the evening included Courtney Weaver running 17.9 in the high hurdles. Sam Berry threw 89' in discus. McKenzie Smoyer won the 1600 in 5:54 and the 3200 in 12:44. Alaina Albert won the 800. Cassidy Reid had an excellent night running 13.0 in the 100 and 27.9 in the 200. The 4x100, 4x200, 4x400, and 4x800 won in excellent times. Odette Ingall won the 400. Hannah Reynard won the 300 hurdles. Kaniya Weatherspoon won the 100 (12.5) 200 (26.44), long jump, and the 4x400.

The previous record was held by Darcie Stanfield, Stacey Walters, Stacey Coe, and Kri Jennings (4:14.40,1987). April 26th Napoleon @ Sand Creek Invitational
The Lady Pirates finished 3rd at the Sand Creek Invitational. Highlights on the night included 4 meet record-setting performances. The 4x400 relay of Alaina Albert, Hannah Reynard, Odette Ingall, and Cassidy Reid set a meet record in 4:20. Kaniya Weatherspoon set a meet record in 27.9 in the 200, 61.9 in the 400, and 16'10" in long jump. Rachel Benedict cleared 93' and Sam Berry 87' in discus. Hannah Reynard tied her school record of 47.9 in the 300 hurdles. Paige Harcourt cleared 4'8" in high jump.
April 23rd Napoleon vs. East Jackson @ Grass Lake
The Napoleon Lady Pirates defeated East Jackson 103-26 and Grass Lake 103-29. The meet will always be remembered for the "hurricane-like" conditions especially during the 100 hurdles, 100, and 4x2. the Pirates improved to 3-0 in the conference.
Kaniya Weatherspoon led the Pirates with wins in 4 events. Hannah Reynard and McKenzie Smoyer won 3 events. Ashley Smith, Odette Ingall, Alaina Albert, and Miranda Hamman won 2 events. Madison Lane, Caitlin Smith, Harleigh Falor Cassidy Reid, and Madison Dean each claimed one victory.

April 16th Napoleon vs. Vandercook Lake
The Napoleon girls defeated the Vandercook Lake girls 90-47. Hannah Reynard led the team to victory on 3 winning relays and running an outstanding time of 48.7 in the 300 hurdles. Hannah’s hurdle time is the fastest in Division 3 so far this year. Kaniya Weatherspoon dominated 3 events. Madison Lane, Alaina Albert, Ashley Smith, Caitlin Smith, & McKenzie Smoyer were all multiple winners for the Pirates. Maddi Dean, Miranda Hamman, Savannah Anderson, Odette Ingall, Holly Heselschwerdt, and Rachel Benedict also posted victories for the Pirates.

March 27th @ MSU Playmakers True Team Invite
The Lady Pirates finished 5th out of 14 schools at the Playmakers Invite. The night was filled with highlights including Sam Berry throwing 29'6.5" in shot put. Kaniya Weatherspoon won long jump with a jump of 17'0". Cassidy Reid set a personal best with an outstanding jump of 15'0". Kaniya Weatherspoon won the 400 with a time of 61.6 seconds. Hannah Reynard was 2nd in 62.3 seconds and Odette Ingall was 5th in 64.3 seconds. The women finished a close 2nd to bath in the 4x400 relay (Reid, Ingall, Reynard, Weatherspoon) with an overall time of 4:15.8.

March 22nd @ Eastern Michigan University
The Lady Pirates of Napoleon competed in their first meet @ the Huron Relays. The team finished 6th out of 21 teams. This was a great finish since most competing teams were Division 1 or 2 in the MHSAA. The highlight of the meet of Kaniya Weatherspoon breaking the school record in long jump by clearing 17'0.75" inches. She improved her best jump by over a foot. Allyssa Kryst set a personal best in shot put with a throw of 30'0.5". Sam Berry also set a personal best with a throw of 27'10.5". The 4x400 relay team of Hannah Reynard, Madison Lane, Odette Ingall, and Kaniya Weatherspoon also ran an excellent time of 4:24. Good job ladies!
